If you are looking for a reliable mechanic that will not short change you, go for Meissner. Moving to the Southbay area, I asked my friend which mechanics he would recommend. Living in SF, he only knew reliable mechanics in his hometown, so he forwarded me a list from a news program of mechanics that gives great auto service with a reasonable price. I would not say they have the cheapest price for oil change, but it's good to bring the car in so they can make sure everything else is okay. HERE IS WHY I DECIDED TO WRITE A REVIEW My wife's Accord was having a slight accelerations problem, I took it in to see if Meissner can fix it. Kurt (son of owner Gary Meissner) & the crew figured out the problem which was a software issue. Only the dealer could fix this problem, however so Kurt proceeded to have the Honda dealer fix the Accord. He let the dealer know what his thoughts were with the problem was (software). The Honda dealer did not listen to Kurt, however and proceeded to perform a $500+ repair. When Kurt got the car back, he tested it out & he was not satisfied with the outcome. He took the car back to the dealer to have them fix it again (making sure they take care of the software issue). The dealer ended up fixing it after 7 days of back and forth with Meissner. During that time, Kurt even gave me a complimentary loaner car while my Accord was being repaired at the dealer. (It's not a Lexus, but it's fine as long as it gets me from point A to B). At the end, the Accord was all fixed and I did not have to paid less than $500 for the repair. Kurt argued with the dealer to not charge me that $500+ bill since it did not fix the problem. When I got the car back, Kurt did not even want me to pay for the repair until I drove it for a week to make sure we are happy with the outcome. I'm sure Meissner did not get much out of that repair, if at all. In fact, I'm sure they must have lost some money from it. Meissner Auto took their responsibility of getting my car fixed and my satisfaction very seriously. They are smart about investing in customer's satisfaction than counting pennies for every service. That's why they will get my business again.
