These guys are my mechanics for life. They're honest, friendly, and they know their stuff. Also, if you work/live nearby they'll give you a ride while your car is being worked on OR there's a rental car place right on the property with really good deals ($135/weekish). They are a family-run business and they take very good care of their customers. When anyone ever says the word "mechanic," I always tell them to just go to Meissner.

I've been coming here for over 10 years. On car #2 with Meissner's! Kurt & Denato and company are such great repair folks. They're very reasonable and they have rental shop right on-site. What I like most about them, they're honest. Not something you find everyday in an auto repair shop.

I have been going to Meissner Auto now for 7 years and have consistently received great quality service for my two BMW'S 740IL and 318i and have never been disappointed with the service I've received. They are fairly priced and trustworthy people. The staff at the shop are a fun buncha guys. This shop has been a staple in the Palo Alto community for 40 years and I believe they will be there for many years to come.P.S. If you want prompt service talk to Kurt and make an appointment because they are usually booked in advance.

Stefan and the team over there are really good. They gave us a fair and well-explained estimate on my wife's Passat, and then were very gracious when we decided to forgoe the repairs and buy a new car instead. They let us park the car in their lot for nearly two weeks, which was very nice of them to do. They even gave us some advice on which new car to get. If we ever have another German car, there is not other place that we would go than Meissner.

I had a suspension squeek in my 2004 Subaru Outback. It took a couple of visits to the shop for Meissner to get it right, but they fixed it perfectly and did not charge me for the extra visit. It was tricky to find the squeek. I am an engineer, with lots of mechanical engineering experience, so I know when mechanics are telling the truth or trying to feed me nonsense. From now own, I will have Meissner service all of my vehicles.

I am conflicted. If I publish this review, I am afraid that my now favorite auto repair facility will be swamped by others. Still, Gary deserves the accolades. My van is a 1985, and Gary persisted until he found in southern CA vacuum delay valve and elec. spark control replacement part(s) for my van. Furthermore, I appreciate the fact that Gary took the initiative to investigate what else might be a problem with my van, including road testing it. It is fortunate because 4 other items needed fixing/replacing: steering idler arm, front/rear drive shaft u-joint assembly, adjust tire pressure and reattach loose muffler pipe.
